Kristen will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of STEP’s one-stop service navigation. Kristen comes to us with over 20 years of social work experience including case management and mid-level management experience. Kristen is a PA Licensed Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work from Cabrini College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.
The one-stop is designed to connect individuals and their families with services for which they initially contact STEP, while additionally making our agency’s vast array of services available to them, as needed. Through a “global” caseworker, customers will partner with STEP in helping to explore, address, and overcome self-sufficiency barriers through one or more of the 25 programs our agency administers. As part of the process, STEP also helps connect customers to partner agencies for additional needs beyond those that STEP can address in order to ensure that all options and community resources are explored and utilized. Through this “whole person” or, in this case, “whole family” approach, STEP impacts customers in the most positive way possible.
STEP has also been awarded 100,000 dollars through CSBG (Community Services Block Grant) discretionary funds to help with the implementation of an agency wide customer database. This database will help STEP connect clients with additional services and help them achieve self sufficiency.
