Team Member Needed for STEP's Workforce Development Pathway to Success

Family Navigator

This 24-hr. per week, benefit-eligible position is responsible for assessing and assisting individuals and families with multiple needs to obtain and maintain self-sufficiency through a case management approach. Reviews enrollment applications and assessments to engage and collaborate with customers to establish goals that facilitate self-empowerment and work towards self-sufficiency. Works in partnership with other STEP programs to meet the needs of program participants.

Requires bachelor’s degree in a human-service-related field or the equivalent education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, one year of casework experience, and demonstrable experience with federal, state, and city laws, programs, and resources. Also requires PA State Police Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances, and a Motor Vehicle Record check.

Team Member Needed for STEP's Independent Living Pathway to Success

Waiver Program Service Coordinator I

This position provides service coordination and assessment services to customers participating in the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) Medicaid Aging Waiver Program.

Requires bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, plus two years of experience in public or private social work that involves comprehensive and/or psychosocial assessments, and certification for completion of level of care determination assessments (LCD). Also requires valid driver’s license and insured vehicle, or other arrangements for transportation to fulfill job duties, available daily; the ability to travel out of town and overnight for Program purposes; and, Pennsylvania Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, Motor Vehicle Record check, and the ability to be bonded.

Family Advocate II

This position builds partnerships with families to assist them in identifying their own goals, strengths, needed services, and support systems, and in developing strategies and timetables for achieving their own goals. Also responsible for eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance.

Requires bachelor’s degree in human services, adult education, family services, early childhood education or other related field, and a minimum of one year of experience with both working with adults and collecting, organizing, recording, and processing information. Must have driver’s license and daily availability of reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage. Current PA Criminal & Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances are required.

Accountant II

Assists in overseeing and maintaining the integrity of fiscal operations, while providing a higher level of accounting support. Involves providing oversight to corporate financial operations, applying prescribed accounting principles and techniques to accounting transactions, and the preparation, maintenance, and control of accounting documents, records, and systems.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting with five years’ accounting experience including computerized fund accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

AmeriCorps Members Needed
for STEP's
Community Collaboration Pathway to Success

STEP’s Community Connect AmeriCorps is currently recruiting members to begin service mid-to-late September. AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with education awards in exchange for a year of community service. Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,815 to pay for college, graduate school or vocational training at eligible institutions, pay back qualified student loans or if member is at least 55 years of age at beginning of service term, may transfer award to child, grandchild or foster child. AmeriCorps members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify while participating.  Members who serve half-time receive a living allowance and a $2,907.50 education award. AmeriCorps is not employment.
