Transportation

Team Member Needed for STEP's Independent Living Pathway to Success

Eligibility & Data Entry Specialist

Provides direct public contact and clerical work in the operation, review, and control of information within the Transportation Program. Work involves customer registration, ride sponsorship eligibility verification, and accurate data entry and reporting. Data collection, and data entry are regular, recurring functions. Work includes quality control through data review, and corrective action. Includes processing and verifying required reports and program records as requested. Assists customers seeking service from the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP), Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Program, and Welfare-to-Work programs.

Requires high school diploma or GED and one year of experience in office work including data entry and reporting experience, experience with Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel), and strong communication skills including listening, understanding, informing, and speaking. Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance current within 90 days of employment.

Head Start

Team Member Needed for STEP's Early Learning Pathway to Success

Center-Based Supervisor

Provide expert guidance and high-level support to education staff on best practices to support children’s growing competencies; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implementation. Support teaching staff in maintaining positive partnerships, and assure services comply with the Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Requires bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or other related field, a minimum of three years’ preschool teaching, and two years’ experience observing, training, assessing, supervising, and evaluating adults, preferably in a preschool program. Also requires current PA Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearances, and Sex Offender Registry check prior to hire.

Team Member Needed for STEP's Early Learning Pathway to Success

Early Head Start
(EHS) Teacher Assistant Floater

Part-time specialized position includes placement in various locations providing responsive care and high-quality individualized learning for up to 8 EHS infants and toddlers. Use age appropriate materials and evidence-based best practices to support children’s growing competencies. Establish and maintain positive and productive partnerships with the children’s families, community partners, and EHS and Head Start staff. Comply with Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and other applicable regulations and laws. Adhere to early learning and family support principles.

Requires high school diploma or GED and minimum of one year of experience working with young children. Also requires current PA Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearances, and Sex Offender Registry check prior to hire, plus valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage.

Team Member Needed for STEP's Early Learning Pathway to Success

Care Manager/Assessor I

Provides assessment and care management services to arrange in-home services for senior citizens with disabilities and support to family caregivers, and other services to enable senior citizens to remain independent or assist them in choosing and entering an appropriate facility to care for them. Develops care plans through an evaluation of the senior citizen’s social contacts and supports, their activities of daily living, the status of their cognitive functioning, their physical health, and their economic and other resources.

Requires bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, plus one year of experience in public or private social work that involves comprehensive and/or psychosocial assessments. Also requires Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, Motor Vehicle Record check, and the ability to be bonded.

Waiver Program Service Coordinator I

This position provides service coordination and assessment services to customers participating in the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) Medicaid Aging Waiver Program.

Requires bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, plus two years of experience in public or private social work that involves comprehensive and/or psychosocial assessments, and certification for completion of level of care determination assessments (LCD). Also requires valid driver’s license and insured vehicle, or other arrangements for transportation to fulfill job duties, available daily; the ability to travel out of town and overnight for Program purposes; and, Pennsylvania Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, Motor Vehicle Record check, and the ability to be bonded.

Accountant II

Assists in overseeing and maintaining the integrity of fiscal operations, while providing a higher level of accounting support. Involves providing oversight to corporate financial operations, applying prescribed accounting principles and techniques to accounting transactions, and the preparation, maintenance, and control of accounting documents, records, and systems.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting with five years’ accounting experience including computerized fund accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

AmeriCorps Members Needed
for STEP's
Community Collaboration Pathway to Success

STEP’s Community Connect AmeriCorps is currently recruiting members to begin service mid-to-late September. AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with education awards in exchange for a year of community service. Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,815 to pay for college, graduate school or vocational training at eligible institutions, pay back qualified student loans or if member is at least 55 years of age at beginning of service term, may transfer award to child, grandchild or foster child. AmeriCorps members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify while participating.  Members who serve half-time receive a living allowance and a $2,907.50 education award. AmeriCorps is not employment.
