School Bus Driver

School year position is responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school-aged children and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from schools and various activities. Position conducts pre-trip inspections, observes safety regulations and policies, enforces student discipline on the bus, and performs related work. Assists with other transportation-related tasks, as needed.

Requires a valid PA driver’s license, CDL Class B or C with school bus and passenger endorsements. Previous professional passenger transport experience is preferred.

Early Intervention & Mental Health Specialist

Provides expert guidance and high-level direct support to staff, parents, providers, agencies, and contractors and their staff members regarding all aspects in the implementation of Head Start Disabilities and Mental Health service areas, in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards Collaborates closely with Head Start program administration and management staff to assure seamless, integrated service delivery across all Head Start services areas.

Transportation Driver (Part-Time)

This position is responsible for operating a minivan, van, small transit bus, or other assigned STEP vehicle to transport customers from point of pick up to point of delivery; vehicle will be wheelchair accessible. Must provide door-to-door service, maintain positive communication, and assist with other transportation-related tasks, as needed.

Early Head Start Home Visitor

This Lycoming County position provides comprehensive EHS services to an assigned group of home-based infants, toddlers, pregnant women, and their families. Establishes and maintains positive and productive partnerships with families and ongoing, meaningful collaboration with community partners and EHS and Head Start staff. Makes weekly visits to the home of each family, and in collaboration with other Home Visitors, plans and conducts Playgroups three or more times each month. Assures the use of evidence-based best practices to support children’s growing competencies and that services comply with the Head Start Act and Performance Standards and other applicable laws and regulations.

Requires associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; minimum of one year of experience working with adults and preschool children, infants and toddlers preferred. Design, plan, manage, implement, and evaluate the mental health services program for all Head Start children and design, plan, manage, and evaluate screening, assessment, identification and specialized services for children with disabilities and special needs. Establish and maintain linkages with parents, staff, community professionals, schools, and agencies, assuring compliance with multiple regulatory standards throughout. Enable parents to become advocates for their children and assist families to access needed services and/or to advocate for unavailable services. Team Member Needed for STEP's Independent Living Pathway to Success

Care Manager/Assessor I

This entry-level position provides assessment and care management services for senior citizens with disabilities. Arranges in-home services for these seniors, support to the family caregivers, and other services to enable the seniors to remain independent or to assist them in choosing and entering an appropriate care facility.

Requires bachelor’s degree in social work (preferred) or related field, plus one year of experience in public or private social work that involves comprehensive and/or psychosocial assessments; or a licensed Registered Nurse with one year of experience, preferably involving home health services, or in a program performing comprehensive functional and/or psychosocial assessments; or, any combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college-level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences. Must have Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance and the ability to be bonded.

AmeriCorps Members Needed
for STEP's
Community Collaboration Pathway to Success

STEP’s Community Connect AmeriCorps is currently recruiting members to begin service mid-to-late September. AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with education awards in exchange for a year of community service. Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,815 to pay for college, graduate school or vocational training at eligible institutions, pay back qualified student loans or if member is at least 55 years of age at beginning of service term, may transfer award to child, grandchild or foster child. AmeriCorps members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify while participating.  Members who serve half-time receive a living allowance and a $2,907.50 education award. AmeriCorps is not employment.
